In 2010, the hot gambling topic in state legislature’s was casino gambling. It was a way for lawmakers to deal with the economic troubles that the recession caused in the US. In 2010, the new hot topic is table games for these casinos.
As there are a lot of states which have legalized many casinos, the next step will be taken by states which have already had casino gambling. Games such as slots, poker, blackjack, craps, roulette must stay now ahead of the curve because they are not enough.
Maryland is the only state which discusses about table games. Pennsylvania has also legalized table games as well as Delaware lawmakers who want to do the same thing. If in the casino industry they are going to to keep up, then Maryland will have to make a move, definitely.
But there are a few opponents who are against the expansion of casino gambling. They argue that the social costs will be a result of the additional gambling options. Thi is going to be an issue for Rawlings-Blake.
Rawlings-Blake claimed that he is not fighting internally about whether or not table games are a good or bad thing for the city. He thinks the revenue will help them be more competitive.
